Zachary Settewongse

Zach Settewongse is a former multinational Creative Director. He is an artist currently teaching woodworking / maker skills at the local high Washington Public Montessori School.  Zach drove through Washington NC and immediately fell in love with the small town. “I just loved the feeling of kindness in this  small town community. I found a historic Colonial Williamsburg replica home for sale and we made Washington NC our home” – Zach Settewongse 

Zach is retired from the corporate world but enjoys sharing his passion for the arts through teaching. He is married and has a daughter. He also has a zoo of animals (two Bernese Mt dogs, and four cats.)

CAREER

While attending college towards an art degree he founded a telecommunications company. It rapidly became a leading telco company that serviced the local hospital network in Reno, NV. After growing the business for almost a decade Zach was seeking to try something different. He then started a media production company which took off. 

He created content for the award-winning PBS show “Great Decisions”, Biography Channel’s “Ghost Hunters”, and Speed Channel’s “Car Wars”. His media company created adverts for several large resort casinos and The UnitedHealthcare Pro Cycling Team. He also created the feature-length motorcycle adventure documentary “Pursuit Horizon. Stop Working; Start Living”.

In 2017 Zach traveled to Bolivia where he wrote, directed, filmed, and edited the short film “Chasing 300 – The World’s Fastest Motorcycle” in partnership with Honda. The film was a hit in the motorcycle industry.

Zach was recruited by the Lowepro & Joby who were multinational companies specializing in the photography/ videography industries. Zach worked as the Creative Director for both companies for six years. He set the direction for and managed the global Creative teams in the USA, France, Spain, Germany, UK, Japan, and China. He has spoken at conferences around the world including Photokena in Cologne, Germany.

It was at this point Zach decided to retire from the corporate world and take ona truly difficult task. The role of stay at home dad 🙂

HOBBIES

Zach is an extreme motorcycle enthusiast. He has owned 34 motorcycles and began riding at the age of 4. He also has a natural talent and passion for photography. However practically everyday you can find Zach building something or creating art. He is currently building a 980 sqft woodworking and pottery studio by himself in his side yard.
